Public Affairs Section
 
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) is tasked with providing accurate, reliable and timely information to the general public about the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and public safety information.   In order to do this effectively, the Public Affairs Section must balance the public’s need for information with the preservation of confidential investigative material. The Public Affairs Section must also make every effort to safeguard the rights of individual victims in order to prevent them from being victimized further.
 
The Public Affairs Section uses print, television, radio, social media and any other available avenues for communication as a means of delivering information to the public.  The Public Affairs Section is also responsible for every aspect relating to the development and management of the sheriff’s office brand. This section is supervised by the Public Communications Director and reports to the Sheriff.
